Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh out on 21-day parole
Chandigarh: Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who is lodged in Sunaria jail, has been granted a 21-day parole. Official sources said that during this period, Ram Rahim will stay at Dera Ashram at Barnawa in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh.
The decision to grant parole to the Sirsa-based Dera chief came days after the Punjab and Haryana High Court disposed of a petition filed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) against the temporary release of the Dera chief.
The high court had on August 9 said that the plea for temporary release of the Dera chief should be considered by the competent authority without any prejudice.
