Doctor and thief found dead in Kapurthala during attempted clinic theft

Kapurthala: A doctor and a suspected thief were found dead under mysterious circumstances following an attempted theft at a clinic in Bhanolanga village, Sultanpur Lodhi sub-division, late Sunday night.

According to police, Dr. Gurcharan Singh, the operator of Charan Medical Store and Clinic, had been troubled by repeated thefts at his establishment and recently installed CCTV cameras. On spotting two suspicious individuals breaking the clinic’s shutter on the CCTV footage, he and his son rushed to the scene.

A violent clash ensued, during which Dr. Singh sustained fatal bullet injuries. One of the fleeing thieves later died after being struck by a vehicle. The identity of the deceased thief has not yet been established.

Sarabjit Singh, in-charge of the Mothanwala outpost, confirmed that both bodies have been taken into custody and placed in the mortuary. The incident is under investigation.

Authorities are examining the CCTV footage and gathering evidence to determine the sequence of events and identify any accomplices.
