Don’t fell prey to fraudsters who dupe people by seeking money for government jobs: CM urges youth

Chandigarh: Reiterating zero tolerance policy of state government against corruption, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday urged the people not to fall in trap of people who dupe the youth on pretext of giving government job in lieu of money or any favor.

In a message, the Chief Minister said that in last corruption has ruined the future of many bright youth. He said that the Vigilance Bureau has arrested two cops who had duped 102 people by extracting more than Rs 26 lakh from them on pretext of securing job to them. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the complaint was logged on anti corruption helpline after which Vigilance Bureau had laid trap and arrested the culprits red handed.

The Chief Minister appealed the people that the state government is committed for providing corruption free administration. He said that if anyone seeks money in lieu of job in the state then the compliant must be made to Vigilance Bureau. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that more than 43000 jobs have been given to youth purely on basis of merit and no corruption has been involved in it.

The Chief Minister urged the youth to refrain from falling in trap of such rackets which seeks money or other favours for securing job for them. He said that these racketeers are just duping the youth as in Punjab recruitment for government jobs is being done in transparent and fair manner. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is committed for wiping out the curse of corruption for which public support is pivotal.

The Chief Minister said that this racket was operational from 2021 but now they have fallen in trap of vigilance bureau. He said that Punjab has an honest government where corruption has no place. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that any Punjabi can lodge their complaint on anti corruption helpline number 9501200200 and their name will be kept secret.
