Dr. Baljit Kaur raise Punjab issues with Union Minister
Punjab News: Minister of Social Justice, Empowerment & Minorities and Social Security, Women and Child Development of Punjab, Dr. Baljit Kaur met Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale during his visit at Faridkot. Dr.Baljit Kaur raised issues pertaining to her department and shortage of funds for different schemes with the Union Minister.
During the conversation with Athawale, Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized on the need for adequate funds for hostels under Babu Jagjivan Ram Yojana. She also advocated for an increase in the allocation of funds under the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojna for the welfare of Scheduled Castes in Punjab.
She stressed upon the need of releasing more funds from the Center Government to establish residential schools for underprivileged children in the state.
A demand was also made by Punjab Minister to increase the funds of scheme for Persons with Disability which is being run by the Social Security Department.
Among others who were also present during the occasion were Director of Social Security, Women and Child Development Department, Dr. Shena Aggarwal, and Director-cum-Joint Secretary, Department of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Raj Bahadar Singh.
