Dry days declared in Ludhiana West ahead of by-election

Ludhiana: To ensure a fair and orderly election process, Punjab Excise Commissioner Jatinder Jorwal has declared a “dry day” from June 17 (6 pm) to June 19 (6 pm), and again on June 23, in the 64-Ludhiana West assembly constituency and its adjoining 3 km area.
The announcement has been made in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. Jorwal has prohibited the sale, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in the designated areas during the stipulated period.
Authorities and institutions concerned have been directed to strictly enforce the restrictions.
Polling for the Ludhiana West by-election will take place on June 19, and the counting of votes is scheduled for June 23.
