ED raids liquor baron Deep Malhotra’s house and properties

Chandigarh: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday conducted searches at the residence of former Akali MLA and liquor baron Deep Malhotra here, officials said.

The ED also raided his Zira liquor factory. According to the information, the ED team has also raided the house of deep Malhotra’s fellow businessmen and shareholders and has taken possession of the necessary papers and other items.

Earlier, the Income Tax Department had also raided the house of Deep Malhotra. The ED team did not inform anyone about the raids nor did they hold any talks with anyone on the issue.

The ED team was accompanied by the intelligence department and the district police, besides the police of other states.
