Eid-ul-Zuha celebrated with devotion and fervour in Punjab

Chandigarh: The holy festival of Eid-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm across Punjab on Saturday, with large gatherings at major mosques across the state.
Special prayers were offered at Hazrat Sai, Tawakkal Shah, Masjid Lakhi Shah, Masjid Mecca, Masjid Medina, Masjid Badshahi Bagh, Nasirpur, Jandli, and the Eidgah. Following the prayers, worshippers prayed for peace and harmony in the country.
Syed Ahmed Khan, Ambala district president of Anjuman Islahul Muslimeen, extended Eid greetings and highlighted the significance of the festival. He said that Eid-ul-Zuha commemorates the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim and his son Hazrat Ismail, and stressed that only earnings made through honest and ethical means are acceptable for the ritual of sacrifice.
He added that the festival serves as a message of compassion and support for humanity, especially for the poor, widows, and orphans. “Happiness should not be limited to ourselves but shared with everyone,” he said.
