Elderly couple killed, nine injured in road accident on Phagwara-Hoshiarpur highway

Phagwara: An elderly couple was killed, and nine others were injured in a road accident on the Phagwara-Hoshiarpur highway near Dhande Mor late Thursday night.

The deceased have been identified as Mukhtiar Singh (70) and his wife, Dharam Kaur, both residents of Jagjitpur village near Phagwara.

The accident occurred when Mukhtiar Singh was returning home from a wedding in his car. As they neared Dhande Mor, a car coming from the Phagwara side collided with their vehicle.

The impact was so severe that Mukhtiar Singh and his wife died on the spot.
