Election Commission orders transfer of 5 SSPs of Punjab

Chandigarh: The Election Commission of India has issued transfer orders for non-cadre officers, who are posted as DCs and SSPs/SPs in four states – Gujarat, Punjab, Odisha and West Bengal.

The posts of DC and SSP in the district are for officers of the Indian Administrative and Indian Police Service respectively. The commission has ordered the transfer of SSPs of Pathankot, Fazilka, Jalandhar Rural and Malerkotla in Punjab.

The commission has also directed the transfer of SSP Bathinda in Punjab and SP Sonitpur in Assam in view of kinship or family ties with elected political representatives.
