Election of NRI Sabha Punjab: Final voter list published
Jalandhar, December 5: The final electoral rolls for the election of NRI Sabha Punjab’s president has been published on the website of www.nrisabhapunjab.in.
The election of President of NRI Sabha will be held on January 5, 2024.
Executive Director, NRI Sabha Punjab-cum-ADC (Rural Development) Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa said that the final voter list had been uploaded on the website after disposing of all claims and objections.
Bajwa further said that on December 11 and 12 2023, the nomination papers can be filed in the court of ADC (G) and scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on Dec 13. After trying to explore the possibility of unanimity in the elections on December 14 and 15, nomination papers can be withdrawn on December 22, 2023. Urging all the members of NRI Sabha to renew their photo identity card which is more than five years old, Bajwa said that the last date for renewing the photo identity card is December 15, 2023. He further informed that only NRIs, who have become members of the assembly before October 27, 2023, will be allowed to vote in the election. Nominees will not be allowed to vote.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the NRIs coming to vote must bring their passport and identity card issued by Sabha. More information in this regard can be obtained from www.nrisabhapunjab.in, he added.
