Ex-Punjab minister’s son arrested in Himachal: 4 friends including woman caught from hotel with heroin
Shimla: The son of the former Punjab Akali minister Sucha Singh Langah was arrested, along with four of his friends, in Himachal Pradesh for allegedly carrying heroin, police said.
Among them is a young woman. Police recovered 42.89 grams of heroin (known as chitta) and scales from the accused. Everyone was intoxicated.
The Special Investigation Unit (SIT) of the police had set a trap leading to their arrest based on confidential information. Late on Tuesday night, a raid was conducted at a private hotel near the old bus stand of Shimla, where they were staying.
During the police interrogation, one of them identified himself as Prakash Singh Langah. Prakash revealed that he is the son of Sucha Singh Langah, who has served as a two-time MLA and a former Punjab minister.
Upon searching the room, the police found heroin, which was seized for further investigation. All the accused in the room were heavily intoxicated and unable to provide additional information about themselves.
