Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s letter to PM signed in blood amid critical health condition

New Delhi: Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s hunger strike entered its 17th day today at Village Dhabi Gujjars on the Delhi-Sangrur National Highway. The protest is aimed at urging the central government to implement previously accepted demands.

Dallewal’s condition has reportedly deteriorated, with doctors warning of potential kidney failure, heart attack, or severe liver damage.

During the hunger strike, Dallewal penned a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which he signed in his own blood. This letter, described as his “first and last,” was written from the protest site.

Cancer specialist Dr. Karan Jagwani, who traveled from the United States, examined Dallewal, noting a weight loss of 12 kilograms.

Medical teams are using machines to monitor his vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse. Government hospital doctors have also conducted checkups and expressed serious concerns about his deteriorating health.

The ongoing protest highlights the growing urgency of the farmers’ demands and the critical condition of their leader.
