Farmer leaders to hold meeting with government in Chandigarh today for MSP and other demands
Punjab News: Representatives of various farmer organisations from Punjab will reach Chandigarh today. All the farmer representatives will hold a meeting with the officers at Punjab Bhawan regarding their demands.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is not in the city today. For this reason, the meeting of farmer representatives will be held with administrative officers.
It is not clear whether any minister of the Punjab government will attend the meeting of farmer representatives.
At the same time, what will be the next strategy of the farmer organizations, it will be known only during the meeting. Today, farmer leaders will clarify the position regarding the direction in which the farmers will take their movement forward and how they register their protest before the state and central government.
Earlier, the farmers had to stage an indefinite sit-in protest in Chandigarh to press for their demands. But the Punjab and Chandigarh police had detained all the big farmer leaders a day earlier. After this, the farmers came on the road and talked about intensifying the protest, including surrounding the toll plaza. But the farmers were not allowed to reach the border of Chandigarh. Several farmers were injured in the police lathicharge.
