Farmers block railway tracks in Punjab to protest against Centre for imposing value cut on wheat
Punjab News: On the call of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, various farmer organizations across Punjab blcoked railway tracks in different locations across the state. There is a protest among the farmers about the reduction in the price of wheat by the central government. Due to which the trains will be stopped by the farmers from 12 noon to 4 pm, due to which the train traffic will be greatly affected.
According to media reports, farmers will stage sit-in at 18 places in Amritsar, Phillaur, Samrala and Malwa region of Bathinda, Patiala, Ferozepur across Punjab. The farmers say they are facing a double whammy. At the same time, the farmer organizations themselves have appealed to the people not to travel by trains today.
The farmers say that the central government should declare the unseasonal rains as a natural calamity and the entire crop of the farmers should be lifted without any cuts.
They also said that earlier they suffered losses due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms and now governments have started cutting the prices of crops.
