Farmers celebrate Lohri in front of DC office, burn copies of government’s anti-people policies
Amritsar: Amidst the ongoing sit-in by the farmers for their rightful demands and inclement weather, the struggling Lohri was celebrated. Lohri was celebrated by farmers at 18 toll plazas and dharnas outside 10 deputy commissioner’s offices across the state today. While the entire country is celebrating the festival of Lohri, the farmers celebrated Lohri during the 48th consecutive day of the sit-in in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Amritsar.
On this occasion, the farmers condemned the policies of the government. The anti-people policies of the corporate houses and the government were exposed. On this occasion, the farmer leaders said that the governments should implement pro-farmer policies so that they can also go to their families and celebrate the festival.
The farmers raised strong slogans against the government and asked them to accept the demands as soon as possible. They said they would intensify the struggle if the government did not accept their demands.
