Farmers’ jatha to march from Punjab to Delhi on January 21
Patiala: Farmer leaders Swaran Singh Pandher and others announced today that the fourth jatha of the ongoing ‘Pucca Kisan Morcha’ will depart for Delhi on January 21.
The announcement was made during a press conference at the Shambhu border in Patiala district.
The jatha is part of a larger initiative involving 101 farmers’ marches on foot from Shambhu Morcha to Delhi. This effort is linked to the 11-month-long ‘Kisan Andolan-2,’ spearheaded by the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (India) and the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political), aimed at pressuring the government to fulfill the agreed-upon demands of farmers and laborers.
Farmer leaders alleged that police action during three previous attempts to march resulted in injuries to nearly 100 farmers.
They criticized the Haryana government for its strict measures, describing them as “cruel” and an obstruction to peaceful protests.
The ongoing protests, centered at Shambhu and Dhabai Gujjars (Khanauri) borders, continue to draw attention to farmers’ grievances as they push forward with their demands.
