Farmers’ movement 2.0 completes one year; key meeting with central government tomorrow

Chandigarh: The ongoing farmers’ movement 2.0, which has 13 demands, including a legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) on crops, has completed one year.

A crucial meeting between farmers and the central government is scheduled to be held in Chandigarh tomorrow, February 14.

Ahead of the meeting, the third major mahapanchayat began at the Shambhu border today, where farmers gathered to demonstrate their strength.

Meanwhile, farmer leader Baldev Singh Sirsa, who was admitted to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala after a heart attack, announced that his last rites would not be performed until the government meets his demands.

Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s fast unto death at the Khanauri border entered its 80th day. He expressed his desire to attend the meeting to represent the farmers’ concerns effectively.

National-level farmer leaders, including Abhimanyu Kohar, are also expected to participate in the discussions.
