Ludhiana News: In Ludhiana, people from 20 villages took out a tractor march to protest against the government. A large number of farmers took to the streets with tractors. The farmers staged a protest outside the NHAI office.
Baldev Linh Noorwala, president of the Ludhiana-Ropar Green Field Highway Sangharsh Committee, said that two years ago, the government had forcibly occupied their lands. Land rates are very low.
NHAI officials had promised that they have filed arbitration cases, in which the government will increase the rates of land. It’s been almost a year now, but they haven’t received the money, protestors said.
