Farmers union continue to protest at Ladowal toll barrier on fifth days

Chandigarh: Punjab’s most expensive toll plaza Ladowal has been closed for the last 4 days. More than 1.5 lakh vehicles have passed without paying toll tax. NHAI has suffered a loss of about Rs 4 crore. NHAI seems helpless in front of the protesting farmers.

The farmers are adamant on their demand that the toll should be fixed at Rs 150 per vehicle, but the NHAI officials are ignoring the demands of the farmers. Due to this, the number of farmers at Ladowal toll plaza is gradually increasing.
