Father kills only son over domestic dispute in Bathinda, arrested

Chandigarh: In Bathinda’s Chak Ruldu Singh Wala village, a man allegedly shot and killed his only son, Arshpreet Singh, following a domestic dispute. The incident occurred on Sunday when Sukhwinder Singh used his licensed 12-bore gun to shoot his 34-year-old son after a quarrel.

According to police, Arshpreet was rushed to a private hospital but died during treatment. He was married and had two daughters.

Investigations revealed ongoing tensions between the father and son, who were both agriculturists owning 22 acres of land.

Station House Officer Paras Chahal confirmed that a murder case has been registered against Sukhwinder Singh based on the statement of Harpinder Kaur, Arshpreet’s wife.

The accused has been arrested, and his licensed gun has been recovered. The body has been sent for post-mortem at the civil hospital.
