FIR against MP Ravneet Bittu and former Congress minister Ashu, know why
Chandigarh: Ludhiana Police have taken action regarding a protest outside the main office of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation Zone A, alleging corruption.
A case has been registered against Ludhiana Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, former cabinet minister and working president of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Bharat Bhushan Ashu, district Congress president and former MLA Sanjay Talwar, as well as former senior deputy mayor and deputy president of district Congress Shyam Sunder Malhotra, along with 50-60 unidentified people under various sections, including obstructing government duty. This case has been registered at Kotwali police station.
Alleging corruption in the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, Congressmen led by MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, former minister and Punjab Congress working president Bharat Bhushan Ashu, locked the main office of the Municipal Corporation in Zone A on Tuesday. At the time when the municipal corporation was locked, all the employees and officials were sitting in their seats.
Despite tight security, MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, former minister Ashu, and district Congress president Sanjay Talwar jumped over the barricading to reach the main gate. During this, the three leaders also clashed with the police personnel, resulting in a scuffle.
