Fire destroys scrap Godown in Sunam, goods worth lakhs gutted in fire

Sunam: A massive fire broke out late last night in a scrap godown at Sthan Kabar, located on the Sunam-Bathinda road, resulting in damages estimated at several lakhs of rupees.

The godown, situated near Gujhapir Basti, was engulfed in flames that quickly spread, destroying large quantities of stored materials.

While the exact cause remains unknown, witnesses at the scene suspect that Diwali firecrackers may have ignited the blaze.

The local fire brigade responded swiftly, but the fire had already spread extensively, making it difficult to contain.

Additional fire tenders from nearby towns were deployed to assist, and after a prolonged effort, firefighters managed to control the flames. However, the contents of the godown were completely gutted, leaving the area covered in ash.
