Fire on Haryana-Punjab Shambhu border, 4 tents, including tractor-trolley burnt to ashes
Chandigarh: A fire erupted in a farmers’ tent on the Haryana-Punjab border, causing chaos among the farmers upon discovery. Despite their efforts, the farmers struggled to contain the blaze, resulting in the destruction of a tractor-trolley and four tents reduced to ashes. The cause of the fire remains to be determined.
In contrast, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that the tractor-trolley belonging to the farmers association of Hoshiarpur was also consumed by the flames.
He appealed for the avoidance of spreading rumors, emphasizing that there were no casualties, but investigations into the cause were underway.
Upon the outbreak of the fire at the Shambhu border, the farmers rallied together, with some using pipes to extinguish the flames while others utilized buckets. However, there was frustration as the fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene belatedly, provoking anger among the farmers.
