Former DSP gets life imprisonment in fake encounter case in Punjab, Ex-DIG gets 7 years in jail

Chandigarh: The CBI Special Court of Mohali on Friday pronounced the verdict in the 31-year-old fake encounter case in Tarn Taran, Punjab. The court has sentenced former DIG Dilbagh Singh to 7 years in jail and retired DSP Gurbachan Singh to life imprisonment. The court had convicted both of them a day earlier.

The court sentenced both of them under IPC sections (364) kidnapping, 302 murder, 218 (public servant making false report record with intent to protect a person from punishment or confiscation of property) and (201) causing disappearance of evidence.
