Giani Harpreet Singh accuses the central government of having a nefarious agenda by excluding Punjabi-speaking areas from Punjab
Punjab E News: The Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Giani Harpreet Singh, made a significant political statement on the occasion of Punjabi Suba Diwas today. He expressed his concern that the Central Government appears to be trying to maintain India’s integrity by exerting force to suppress large-scale international uprisings and separatist elements in various parts of the country. However, he emphasized that maintaining integrity without adopting a federal structure is challenging.
He pointed out that only the formula of unity in diversity can preserve India’s sovereignty. Otherwise, there is a risk of regional languages and cultures being suppressed, and attempts to impose Hindutva on regional cultures, which could lead to the creation of a Hindu Rashtra. All of these factors pose a threat to the country’s integrity.
Giani Harpreet Singh cited his visits to the United States, Russia, and the United Kingdom as examples of countries with strong, established federal structures. He emphasized that India should consider adopting a federal structure that allows linguistic, cultural, religious, and political diversity to thrive under its umbrella.”
