Girdawari conducts by Revenue Officials, Central Teams take samples in Phillaur & Mehatpur areas

Officials to carry out crop damage assessment in 1005 villages in District

Jalandhar: The officials of Revenue Department are being carried out special Girdawari in the fields to assess the damage caused to crops due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms recently.

The Central teams also visited in the fields of Phillaur and Mehatpur areas to take stock of crop damage. The teams took samples of badly affected wheat crop. Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh said that the Circle Revenue Officers along with Agri experts were preparing reports of crop damage. He also mentioned that these teams were being carried out assessment in 1005 villages in the district. The officials have been directed to conduct the assessment on priority so that next course of action could be initiated. He also urged the farmers could bring to the notice of concerned C.R.O. or Agriculture Officer, if they had any issue regarding the ongoing girdawari. Jaspreet Singh said that the Central teams visited in the villages of Phillaur and Mehatpur areas where they took samples of wheat crop, which were being examined. He said that on the basis of reports of these samples further steps would be taken in larger interests of farmers facing crisis due to crop damage.
