GLADA to repair 200 feet wide road in Urban Estate Dugri

Ludhiana: Owing to hardship being faced by the residents of Ludhiana, GLADA is undertaking the repair of 200’ wide road from Jawaddi link road to Jain Mandir, near Dugri Urban Estate in Ludhiana at a cost of Rs. 14.70 crore. The work of the road was started earlier, however, recognizing the need for better road design, the engineering wing of GLADA corrosponded with the team of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR- CRRI). The design of the road has been prepared by CSIR-CRRI with the higher thickness of road crust to be laid then proposed earlier. GLADA has also recognized the need for better drainage of storm water from the road surface and has thus decided to increase the number of road gullies on the road stretch. For the new design to be implemented and for absolute transparency, GLADA closed the earlier work and has floated a fresh tender open for bidding by all eligible bidders. Following the transparent tendering process and upon allotment, the work will be completed in 9 months. The repaired road will serve as a lifeline for the economy of the area and comfortable ride for the residents.
