Governor Purohit’s resignation yet to be accepted, to conduct visit in border areas of Punjab
Chandigarh: The resignation of Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit has not yet been accepted. Purohit cited personal reasons for his resignation after he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and BJP President JP Nadda in New Delhi, but no decision has been made yet.
After several days of not accepting the resignation, the governor has become active again. Banwari Lal Purohit held a meeting with officials in UT, Chandigarh.
On Monday, Purohit released a list of programs to visit the border areas of Punjab. Banwari Lal Purohit will visit the border areas from February 20 to 23 during his sixth visit.
According to the released tour schedule, Governor Banwari Lal Purohit will visit the border areas of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, and Fazilka.
His itinerary includes meetings with officials of central agencies and state governments to review the progress made since their previous visits and to resolve any new issues that have arisen in the recent past.
