Gurpartap Singh Wadala denies appointment as Faridkot observer by Akali Dal
Chandigarh: Gurpartap Singh Wadala has denied his appointment as the observer for Faridkot by the Shiromani Akali Dal, stating that the party’s decisions should align with the directives of the Akal Takht Sahib.
Wadala pointed out that the Akal Takht had mandated a seven-member committee to oversee recruitment, but the Akali Dal has assigned separate observers for each district.
He said that the seven-member committee should have been fully operational to ensure proper supervision.
He further suggested that the committee should collectively take responsibility, rather than assigning it district-wise.
Highlighting a religious dimension to the issue, Wadala stated, “Our generations have been dedicated to the Akali Dal. The principle of Miri-Piri should be upheld.”
The matter has raised questions about adherence to religious directives in the party’s decision-making process.
