Hand grenade hurled at house in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: Three unidentified men in an auto-rickshaw hurled a hand grenade at a house in Sector 10 here this evening, triggering panic. During this time, there was no loss of life. The explosion was so powerful that the window panes were shattered. According to sources, three suspects were involved in the incident. One of them dropped the bomb while the two remained in the auto rickshaw.

Chandigarh DIG and SSP along with other senior police officials have rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. Teams of fire brigade and National Disaster Relief Force have also arrived.

CCTV cameras are being examined by the police. Police sources said a bomb disposal squad team has been called in to collect samples after the blast.
