HC to hear MP Amritpal and aides plea for removal of NSA on August 28

Chandigarh: The petitions filed by Khadoor Sahib MP and Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh’s associates against the National Security Act (NSA) imposed on them will now be heard by a double bench led by the Chief Justice of the High Court. Previously, these petitions were being heard by a single bench of the High Court.

Amritpal’s aides—Papalpreet Singh, Bhagwant Singh (also known as Pradhan Mantri Bajeke), Gurmeet Singh Bukkanwala, Kulwant Singh, Gurinder Aujla, and Basant Singh—had challenged the NSA imposed on them in the High Court last year. Recently, a fresh NSA has been imposed on all of them, which was initially being heard by the single bench.
