In a first, Chandigarh Hotel to auction luxury cars over non-payment of bills by guests

Punjabenews: For the first time in Chandigarh, money will be collected by auctioning guest vehicles due to non-payment of hotel bills. Guests coming to the hotel’s Audi Q3 and Chevrolet Cruise vehicle will be auctioned. The incident took place in 2018 when two guests stayed at Shivlikview, a five-star hotel in Sector 17, for nearly six months.

During this time, they enjoyed all the facilities of the hotel but when the bill of lakhs was made, they could not pay Rs 18.96 lakh. After which the hotel seized both the vehicles. After which the matter went to court.
After winning the case in court, the hotel has decided to auction both their vehicles and recover the money. These vehicles will be auctioned on February 14. The base price of Audi Q3 has been kept at Rs 10 lakh and cruise at Rs 1.5 lakh.
