Indian Hockey team reaches semi-finals: celebrations from Punjab to Paris
Chandigarh: The Indian hockey team has reached the semi-finals after a thrilling victory over Great Britain in Paris. From Punjab to Paris, the triumph is being celebrated with great fervor. Families of the players are particularly excited, and sweets are being distributed in homes across the region.
In Amritsar, the house of player Gurjant Singh was filled with an atmosphere of celebration. Neighbors, family, and relatives gathered to share in the joy, distributing laddoos and praying for the team’s continued success, hoping for a gold medal.
A similar scene unfolded at the home of Jalandhar-based hockey team captain Manpreet Singh, where friends and family joined in the festivities.
Hockey coach GS Sangh said that the team played very well in today’s match. The team played with 10 players for 42 minutes as one player received a red card in the second quarter. Despite the odds, the team played well, especially in shootouts… It was a team effort, I will give credit to the entire team and not just one player.
