Infighting in Akali Dal intensifies in Punjab: Harsimrat Badal says, ‘Few leaders under influence of BJP to break party’
Chandigarh: The ongoing feud in Punjab’s regional party, the Shiromani Akali Dal, shows no signs of stopping.
In her statement, Shiromani Akali Dal MP from Bathinda, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, said, “Some stooges of BJP are trying to break the Shiromani Akali Dal. They want to do what they did in Maharashtra.”
The Shiromani Akali Dal is united, and they are going to fail in their attempts. Out of 117 leaders, only 5 leaders are against Sukhbir Badal, while 112 leaders are standing with the party and Sukhbir Badal. The leadership of all the constituencies is with us.
Without naming Bibi Jagir Kaur, Badal said she was made to contest the SGPC polls by the BJP. On the election of Om Birla as Speaker, Badal said that the central government has always dominated, and the Center has elected the Speaker without opposition. This causes harm to the people.
