Jalandhar banquet hall owners break municipal seal, claim court stay

Jalandhar: The Municipal Corporation of Jalandhar had sealed Tara Palace at 120 Footy Road, Jalandhar, but on Friday, the owners allegedly removed the seal and notice. A wedding program was also held at the venue in the morning.

The action against the banquet hall was taken by the Tehbazari department following a complaint. Officials stated that the municipal team had sealed the property late at night.

However, the owners argued that they had obtained a court stay, making the sealing invalid.

Mayor Vineet Dhir said he had been informed of the incident and assured that an investigation was underway. “If there is any obstruction in government work, appropriate action will be taken,” he said.
