Jalandhar DIG raids police station: SHO suspended, DSP called for explanation

Chandigarh: The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Jalandhar range in Punjab, Harmanbir Singh Gill, conducted a raid at the Tanda police station in Hoshiarpur on Tuesday. Upon arrival, they found the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and the Station House Officer (SHO) asleep in their quarters. Additionally, only the ASI was present at the police station, and he was unarmed.

As a result, the DIG expressed his displeasure and suspended SHO Tanda Sub Inspector Raman Kumar. He also called for action to be taken against the DSP. Furthermore, an explanation has been requested from the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Hoshiarpur.
