Jalandhar owner of RS-Global Travel agency remanded to police custody in rape case

Jalandhar: Sukhchain Singh Rahi, owner of renowned travel agent RS Global, was produced in court today and remanded for two days after his arrest in the rape case at Prime Regalia Hotel.

Sukhchain Singh Rahi was arrested by the police in the case of rape of a 24-year-old woman.

ADCP of City Police Tejveer Singh Hundal said that the accused is being questioned. After which further action will be taken by the police.

Rahi was admitted to Civil Hospital Jalandhar at around 2 pm where the police brought him without handcuffs. During this, Rahi has denied all the allegations against him.

The police had recovered a suicide note from the woman which has been sent for investigation.

In the note, the victim has written that she lives in PG located on Garha Road, Jalandhar. On August 20, he called the office of the large RS Global Travel Agency located on an adjacent street of Indo-Canadian. He had a conversation with company employee Pallavi on the phone.

She wrote that employee asked her to come to office the next day i.e. 21 August. She met with a travel agency owner named Sukhchain Singh Rahi, who claimed to be the owner of the company. The accused had taken the victim’s number. The girl had told him to go Singapore. But Rahi talked about sending him on a work permit in Canada in which her expenses will also be minimal.

The victim sent all his documents to the said accused’s number. After which, on the pretext of the seminar, the young woman was called to the Hotel Prime Regalia. Where the girl was first entered in the hotel and then taken to a room on the second floor. The victim further said in the suicide note that she drank a cold drink in the room, after which she does not remember what happened to her. But it was definitely found that I did wrong things seven times. After which I was left PG.

The victim further wrote in the suicide note that now she feels that I have not been able to show my face anywhere. Because of which sh does not want to live this life anymore. Only Rahi will be responsible for her death. I request Rahi to be given the strictest punishment. So that does not happen to any other girl,”the girl wrote in her suicide note.
