JALANDHAR NEWS: RURAL POLICE SOLVES FAKE ROBBERY CASE IN 24 HOURS
Jalandhar News: In a major breakthrough, Jalandhar Rural Police has arrested a delivery agent who falsely reported being robbed of Rs. 28,000 to cover up his theft of company money. The police solved the case within 24 hours using modern investigation techniques.
Senior Superintendent of Police Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh, said that the case was solved under the guidance of SP Investigation Jasroop Kaur Bath and DSP Shahkot Onkar Singh Brar. Inspector Balwinder Singh Bhullar, SHO Shahkot, led the investigation team that quickly uncovered the truth.
The police arrested Lawnish Kumar alias Deepu, son of Tarsem Lal from Rupewal village. Kumar worked as a delivery agent for a company near Sukhjit Hospital Nakodar for the past one and a half months, earning Rs. 10,000 per month.
He had filed a false police complaint claiming three men in a Swift car robbed him near SDM Court Shahkot flyover.
SSP Khakh explained that during investigation, the police found Kumar had made up the robbery story to steal company money. He was under pressure to repay a loan from Credit B company and had other personal expenses.
“Our investigation showed that no robbery took place that day. Kumar invented the story to keep the company’s money for himself,” said SSP Khakh.
The police team has recovered Rs. 10,000 from and one bike form Kumar’s possession.
The police have registered a case under sections 304(3) and 5 BNS at Police Station Shahkot. They also seized Kumar’s motorcycle (HF Deluxe, number PB-67-D-1945) as evidence.
The arrested accused will be produced in the local court and his remand will be taken to recover the remaining money.
SSP Khakh praised the police team for their quick work and warned that such attempts to deceive police would face strict action.
