Jalandhar West MLA Mohinder Singh to become minister today
Jalandhar: AAP MLA Mohinder Bhagat, who won the by-election from the Jalandhar West constituency in Punjab, is set to be appointed as a minister today. There is speculation that he will be named the Sports Minister.
Meanwhile, AAP MLA Balkar Singh, representing Kartarpur, Jalandhar, resigned from his ministerial position yesterday. The AAP has now given Bhagat, an MLA from the heart of Jalandhar city, an opportunity.
According to sources, Bhagat received the call for his new role yesterday. His constituency includes a large number of Punjab’s top businessmen, particularly those involved in the sports industry. This has fueled speculation that he will be appointed as the Sports Minister.
The previous Sports Minister, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, resigned after winning the Lok Sabha elections.
