Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh urges MPs to unite for farmers in Parliament

Chandigarh: Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh made a significant statement from the Khanauri border, where he arrived to assess the deteriorating health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal.

Speaking on the situation, Giani Harpreet Singh expressed concern over the government’s indifference towards farmers, questioning the state of democracy in the country.

He stated, “I do not understand how we are living in a democratic country. The government does not understand the plight of farmers. The farmers of the country are going through a bad phase.”

He said the importance of collective participation in the farmers’ movement, stating that agriculture is the backbone of the nation. “This is an agricultural country; only then the country survives. If agriculture is weakened, no sector will be able to rise,” he said.

Giani Harpreet Singh urged all Members of Parliament to unite in raising their voices in Parliament to address the farmers’ concerns and save Dallewal’s life. “If all MPs come together in Parliament and raise their voice, then our voice will be heard,” he added.
