Journalist and writer Surjan Singh Zirvi passes away
Punjab News: Punjabi journalist and writer Surjan Singh Zirvi (93) passed away in Toronto, Canada today. He has been the news editor of the daily Punjabi newspaper ‘Nava Zamana’.
He passed class X from government school Zira. He was also active as a settlement counselor in Canada. His daughter Sirat and son-in-law Navtej Singh live in Canada. His friend Harish Puri said he had an unparalleled understanding of Punjab’s society, politics and history. Noted journalist Jatinder Pannu described him as his guru.
