Khadoor Sahib MP’s election challenged in High Court for concealment of information

Chandigarh: The election of Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh has been challenged in the High Court. The petition was filed by Vikramjit Singh, who contested as an independent candidate against Amritpal.

Vikramjit Singh alleges in the petition that Amritpal Singh, while contesting from the Khadoor Sahib seat, concealed important information in his nomination papers. He also failed to provide full details of his election expenses.

During the campaign, several meetings were held daily in his support, and vehicles and election materials were used without disclosing the source of these expenses, he said.

The petition also claims that no information was provided about the funding Amritpal received. Additionally, religious places were used in his election campaign, and he was promoted on social media without permission. The petition includes several such allegations and demands that the High Court annul Amritpal Singh’s election, which the court is expected to hear soon.
