Lok Sabha Elections- 2024: 6 nominations filed on Friday
Jalandhar: On Friday, six nominations were filed for the Lok Sabha Jalandhar general elections. Balwinder Kumar from the Bahujan Samaj Party, Sushil Kumar from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Mohinder Singh K.P. from the Shiromani Akali Dal, and Charanjit Singh Channi from the Indian National Congress submitted their nomination papers. Additionally, Manjit Kumari and Sunita filed nominations as covering candidates from the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party, respectively.
District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that nomination papers can be submitted for the Lok Sabha constituency Jalandhar until May 14, from 11 am to 3 pm. He said that scrutiny of nominations will take place on May 15, and the deadline for withdrawal of nomination papers is May 17.
DC Aggarwal said that nomination papers cannot be filed on Saturday and Sunday, May 11 and 12. Only five individuals, including the candidate, are permitted to attend the Deputy Commissioner’s courtroom in the District Administrative Complex for nomination.
