Lok Sabha Elections-2024: Mogambo, Gabbar, Ghazni giving message to cast vote
Jalandhar News: On behalf of the district administration, Mogambo, Gabbar and Ghajni are giving a message to maximum people to exercise their right to vote without any fear and impartially during the Lok Sabha Elections-2024.
Various graffiti have been created by the district administration under the SVEEP program at the prominent places as an exclusive initiative. In these graffities these popular characters were inviting people to vote in huge numbers.
District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that according to the instructions of the Election Commission of India, in order to achieve the target of more than 70 percent voter turnout during the Lok Sabha elections, the district administration has conducted various activities under the SVEEP program to educate the people, especially the youth. Voters are being encouraged to exercise their right to vote with dialogues, pictures of popular films at different places.
He also said that these graffitis created at different places by the district administration have become the center of attraction for the people especially the youth and motivated them to exercise their right to vote during this biggest festival of democracy in the country.
Various slogans written like ‘Youth da Ekhi Tashan manavange Voto Da Jasan’, ‘are oye Sambha Kado Hai Votan, 01 June 2024’, ‘Don’t think that one vote will make a difference, only your vote will move the country forward. ‘ and ‘I will not forget to vote this time’ are spreading messages of maximum voting.
Dr. Aggarwal also said that the district administration has appointed nodal officers under the SVEEP program in each assembly constituency with the aim of increasing the vote percentage in the district, apart from informing the students of schools and colleges about the importance of voting. More and more people are being encouraged to play an active role in democracy.
He also said that this time during the Lok Sabha elections-2024, 16.42 lakh voters in the district will exercise their right to vote at 1951 polling booths, for which the district administration has ensured adequate arrangements at each polling booth for the convenience of the voters.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development)-cum-Nodal Officer Sveep Jasbir Singh said that under the able leadership of District Election Officer Dr. Himanshu Agarwal, the district administration will conduct large-scale awareness activities under the sveep program in the coming days and ensure the participation of more and more people, especially the youth, in the democratic process.
