Lok Sabha polls: CM Bhagwant Mann holds meeting with Cabinet ministers and senior leaders
Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann arrived in Jalandhar on Wednesday and held a meeting with local leaders regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. According to the information received, CM Mann conducted this meeting at a local hotel in the city, which was attended by several leaders, including Minister Balkar Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Sant Seechewal, and MP Sushil Kumar Rinku.
Sources said that the main focus of the meeting was on strategies to regain control of the Jalandhar seat. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has ramped up its campaign following discussions about former Punjab Congress CM Charanjit Singh Channi potentially contesting from Jalandhar.
Since the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat is considered a stronghold of Congress, the party is determined not to lose it. There are indications that Congress may field former CM Channi from the Jalandhar seat this time, as he enjoys significant popularity in the region and could pose a tough challenge to AAP MP Rinku.
Consequently, AAP has intensified its campaigning efforts in Jalandhar.
