Majithia questioned for second day by SIT in drug smuggling case
Chandigarh: Former minister and senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia was questioned for eight hours at the police lines for the second consecutive day by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing a 2021 drug smuggling case. The SIT, led by DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, focused on financial matters during the interrogation.
The SIT includes DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar as chairman, along with IPS officer Varun Sharma, SP Investigation Yogesh Sharma, Inspector Darbara Singh, and ADA Anmoljit Singh.
Speaking to reporters after the questioning, Majithia accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s government of spending crores to cancel his bail and send him to jail.
He expressed confidence in the judiciary, stating that the Supreme Court had noted that his questioning should not take more than two hours, yet he was summoned for the seventh and eighth time. He alleged that the government was deliberately harassing him.
