Massive ruckus in Punjab Assembly: LoP Bajwa, 9 Congress MLAs, including Warring, suspended
Chandigarh: The Punjab Assembly is continuing its fourth day of the budget session today. The budget presented by Finance Minister Harpal Cheema yesterday (March 5) is under debate, with the government responding to questions raised by the opposition.
Meanwhile, during the session, Speaker stopped Congress MLA Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, stating that his allotted time had expired. Following this, Congress MLAs caused an uproar.
Subsequently, the Speaker suspended 9 Congress MLAs, including Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa and Raja Waring, for the day. Marshals were called in and they were escorted out of the House.
Earlier in the session, Congress MLA Sukhwinder Kotli protested, urging the AAP government to appoint a Dalit Deputy CM and demanding an apology from CM Bhagwant Mann for his remarks about seizure and shoe sniffing. Currently, the assembly proceedings are ongoing.
