Medical and police leaves canceled in Chandigarh, Himachal after India’s air strike in Pakistan

Chandigarh: Following India’s Operation Sindoor air strike in Pakistan, authorities have canceled all leaves of medical officers in Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh. Officials have been directed to remain on 24×7 emergency duty in anticipation of any medical exigency.

In Chandigarh, the directive extends to both medical officers and police personnel. An official order stated that leaves for all staff posted at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) and Urban Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (UAAMs) have been revoked with immediate effect.

The personnel have been instructed to remain on standby round the clock and report for duty without delay if summoned. The order warned of strict disciplinary action if calls are missed or duties are not responded to promptly.

In Himachal Pradesh, security has been tightened at Dharamshala stadium ahead of an IPL match. Commandos have been deployed across the venue, including the stands and media box, as a precautionary measure amid heightened tensions.
