Meeting with Health Minister remains inconclusive; OPD services to close completely from September 12
Chandigarh: In a significant development, all outpatient department (OPD) services at government hospitals and health centers across Punjab will be completely suspended from September 12. This decision follows an inconclusive meeting between Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and the Punjab Civil Medical Services Association (PCMSA).
The PCMSA had previously implemented a partial closure of OPD services, restricting operations to just three hours a day starting September 9. However, the ongoing strike has led to considerable difficulties for patients.
Dr. Akhil Sareen, President of the PCMSA, confirmed that as of tomorrow, all OPD services will be entirely halted for the entire day. Emergency services will continue to operate to ensure urgent medical needs are met.
