MHA approves suspension of Senior IPS officer Surinder Pal Singh Parmar till June 2025

Punjab News: The Ministry of Home Affairs has confirmed the suspension of senior IPS officer Surinder Pal Singh Parmar (PB:1997) until June 23, 2025. The decision was conveyed to the Chief Secretary of Punjab through an official communication.

The suspension was approved under Rule 3(1) of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969, following a letter from the Punjab Government dated May 5, 2025.

The ministry has also directed the Punjab Government to issue a charge-sheet against Parmar by June 23, 2025.

A copy of the charge-sheet has been requested to be sent to the ministry for official records, indicating that disciplinary proceedings are currently underway against the officer.
